About Us

Launa Payne
Launa Payne is a member of Xa'xtsa First Nation. She is an Indigenous Educator with a focus on outdoor education. Launa teaches yoga and mindfulness in addition to Indigenous outdoor camps. Launa is the proud mother of two adult children. She has published 2 books on Indigenous teachings and connection to the land.

Sherrelle Anderson
Sherrelle Anderson is a member of the Saddle Lake First Nation. She is a Social Worker with a focus on Indigenous wellness. Sherrelle is an Indigenous outreach Worker who also teaches a number of Indigenous programs throughout BC. Sherrelle is the proud mother of three school aged daughters.

Jocelyn Lywood
Jocelyn Lywood is a member of the Tsilhqo’tin First Nation (Anaham). Jocelyn was raised on Secwepemc territory in Salmon Arm BC. She has been with her husband Scott since 2012. Jocelyn owns and operates Sweet Freedom Yoga Studio and Boutique. She has been teaching yoga for 10 years. Jocelyn is the Health and Wellness Director at Rise Up. In this role she uses her passion for mindfulness and land connections to support Indigenous children, family and youth.

Kris Wilson
My name is Kris Wilson and I come from the nlkapmux territory with the Lower Nicola band. My husband and our three children reside in salmon arm. I enjoy the outdoors hiking, camping and watching beautiful sunsets. My work with Rise Up has given me many different and new opportunities. I enjoy meeting with the families and youth that we provide programs for.
