Indigenous Outdoor Camps

Rise Up facilitates a variety of Indigenous day camps. Our camps are offered on and off reserve to both First Nation Bands as well as to community based organizations. Key areas explored include connections to nature through Indigenous world view, social skill development, land stewardship and outdoor adventure activities. Camps can be tailored to address community needs.

Rise Up offers children and youth camps for young people. Our camps focus on social/emotional learning and activities while incorporating Indigenous ways of knowing and being into our teachings. A typical camp begins with an opening circle to do a check in and smudge, a discussion around a specific issue such as body image, then an activity that builds on leadership and cooperation skills, lunch together (which is provided) and then a closing circle. We provide these camps on site and on reserve. Please do not hesitate to contact for further information. We are able to alter camps to support the needs of each individual nation.
